some problem with the USB WWAN dongle from Netvigator, but my seller from Yahoo solved it! good work Eric!

Now need to decide what software to put onto it..

KDDi rolls out Toshiba Sportio W62T cellphone

We caught a brief glimpse of Toshiba's Sportio W62T when KDDi announced its vast summer 2008 lineup of phones, but the Japanese carrier is just now giving the handset its proper due with an official launch. As the rather unfortunate name suggests, this one's intended to help you out in your various athletic endeavors, with it packing an accelerometer and built-in GPS to keep track of how many steps you take and how far you've gone, as well as how many calories you've burned. As if that wasn't enough, you'll also apparently be able to "compose music" by jogging along to special tracks. Otherwise, you can expect a 2.2-inch 240 x 320 display, a built-in 1seg TV tuner, a 2-megapixel camera, and built-in Bluetooth -- no word on a price just yet though. [Via Pocket-lint]

Wii Fit Is No Gym Replacement

The Wii Fit was not meant to be a replacement for a trip to the gym, according to Nintendo supremo Shigeru Miyamoto anyway. He did say, "I forgot to mention something important earlier: I don't think Wii Fit's purpose is to make you fit; what it's actually aiming to do is make you aware of your body." Being aware of my own body, eh? I suppose the warning signals are already there if I happen to drop my Wiimote on the floor and can't see it due to a bulging beer belly. Remember folks - if you want to lose weight, buying video games is not the way to go. You'd best work on pounding the pavement or the treadmill at the gym instead.

after spending my 75 days' 30min each work on Wii Fit Yoga
i can testify to it.

Miaymoto san is exactly to the point on "making you aware of your body"
this "awareness" has change a few things of my lifestyle:

• Diet, (i'd consciously ate less fatty/meat stuff, changing to a cleaner diet..)
• Work hours, woke up at least 1 hour earlier, do the Yoga thing, shower, before leaving for work
• Sleep hours, forcing a earlier sleep time
• keeping a journal really helps on you underestand your cycles better (yes, guys do have their cycles.. also travelling does contribute much to that as well)

i am perfectly happy with Wii Fit and no doubt its worth its US$125!

XBMC Finds a Home on Your Mac [Featured Mac Download]

ER: this seems real interesting, i might give it a try and consider getting a Mac Mini for use with my TV.. the problem is that the Mac is not compatible with the Digital TV USB in HK.. and the Mac Mini does not have HDMI (need to figure out the audio part..) my Sharp TV has a VGA/DVI port not used..

Mac OS X only: Whether or not you've already transformed your old Xbox into a media center with Xbox Media Center (XBMC), chances are you've seen what a killer media center application XBMC is. If you've ever wished you could bring the same saucy media center interface to your Mac, your wishes are finally being answered with XBMC for Mac. That's right, the Unix app for the original Xbox has been ported to Macs, and though it's only the 0.1 version, it already performs amazingly. If you're already a Front Row/Apple TV lover, you're probably wondering what the point of XBMC on your Mac is. Well, the main reasons you may way to run XBMC (lifted from the 9 to 5 Mac interview) are:

• Resolutions up to, including and even surpassing 1080P (AppleTV is currently at 720P)
• DTS/AC3 passthrough (which is great for playing DVD/BluRay/HD-DVD sourced audio). This means if you have a surround receiver you can have it decode multichannel audio
• Almost unlimited video and audio format support since we can play anything ffmpeg supports
• A great virtual file system layer with support for protocols like UPnP
• There is a great looking weather item that puts very useful info in front of your eyes.
• Since it is an open platform, the sky really is the limit, things like Youtube browsers, RSS readers, visualizers, MAME/Other emulators are all being integrated seemlessly. Heck, one could even imagine running an Xbox emulator on my quad-core machine...now that would bring us full circle!

Sound compelling enough? XBMC for Mac is still in its very early stages, but if you're excited about its potential, it's definitely worth a download.
